Equine Therapy

We now offer Equine Therapy which is where you can work through your healing process with horses. Animals can offer an extraordinary amount of emotional support. Beyond the pet-owner relationship that many of us have lovingly experienced, animals are beneficial in therapeutic settings to help clients navigate challenging emotional experiences by feeding, grooming, leading a horse, meditation with a horse, or riding a horse.

Equine therapy—also known as equine-assisted therapy or horse therapy—is a form of therapy that involves interactions between patients and horses. It’s used as a complementary treatment for individuals dealing with physical, emotional, behavioral, or psychological challenges.

Types of Equine Therapy

  1. Equine-Assisted Psychotherapy
Focuses on mental health and emotional well-being. A licensed therapist guides activities with horses to address issues like trauma, anxiety, depression, PTSD, or addiction.

  2. Equine-Assisted Learning
Emphasizes personal development, communication, problem-solving, and team-building through structured exercises involving horses.

  3. Therapeutic Riding
While not therapy per se, it has therapeutic benefits for individuals with physical or cognitive disabilities, improving balance, muscle tone, and self-esteem.
